Method

  1. 1

Heat the oven to 175°C / 350°F. Line a 20 cm / 8 in square pan with parchment, leaving two overhanging sides.

  2. 2

Melt the chopped dark chocolate and butter gently in a heatproof bowl, then stir until smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

Let the chocolate mixture cool for 5 minutes so it feels warm, not hot.

  4. 4

In a large bowl, whisk the yogurt with granulated sugar and brown sugar until creamy.

  5. 5

Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition.

  6. 6

    Stir in the vanilla extract.

  7. 7

Pour in the melted chocolate mixture and whisk until smooth.

  8. 8

In a separate bowl, sift the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.

  9. 9

Fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate batter just until no dry streaks remain.

  10. 10

Fold in most of the chocolate chips, saving a small handful for the top.

  11. 11

Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and smooth the surface.

  12. 12

Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top.

  13. 13

Bake for 22–27 minutes, until the edges are set and the center still looks slightly soft.

  14. 14

Cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before lifting out and slicing with a clean knife.
